First post!

So, about two years ago, I lost 73 pounds. Then I got a boyfriend...we broke up...I re-discovered bagels from NYC...got a job serving at the Olive Garden...and here we are, about 30 pounds heavier again! It's ok, because I'm resilient, and I can do this-again. I just need that motivation and a sounding board to bounce my thoughts/ideas/obsessions off of.

When I did this before, I was really successful with Weight Watchers. This time, I can't quite get into the program as much! However, my best friend and I started calorie counting, and it seems I'm a little more motivated to stick to that. I like being able to see the high amount of calories burned during running or spinning, and how much I can eat back. I did re-subscribe to Weight Watchers a few months ago, but I think I'm going to just stick with MyFitnessPal for this last go-round with weight loss.

I also re-committed myself to working out 4-5 times a week. This is going to be between going to the gym and doing this program called DailyBurn. DailyBurn is a streaming workout service. For about $10 a month, there's this whole library of workouts you can do right in your living room. Since my gym has seriously cut back on their summer classes, I'm going to do a few of these workouts a week, too. Plus, I don't have to leave my house? Score!

I always plan my day out very well, with the best intentions...but then my best friend comes home and cooks-or we go to Taco Bell (because, let's face it-that shit is delicious). See, he can do that and still lose weight, because he's got a super high metabolism and can lose weight by planning to do so. I, on the other hand, cannot. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which really messed up my metabolism. It's a form of hypothyroidism, which really just means it's harder for me to lose weight. I have to really watch what I eat, and make sure I get that exercise in most days of the week. It's still plausible-just harder.

Anyways, I'm going to try to update this weekly, with my results or thoughts or whatever. Maybe even a few recipes here and there-I'm not a great cook, but I do like to look for healthy stuff to (attempt to) make. Since I work at a restaurant, I'm sure I can dig up some healthy ways to eat at Olive Garden, or even just discuss my guilt/love for chicken scampi or the lasagna frittas, lol. Don't get me started on the chicken alfredo sub chicken parm chicken...mmm...forbidden calories...LOL!

Have a great week. :)
